Huntington National Bank ABL Underwriter in Cleveland, Ohio

The ABL Underwriter focuses on credit underwriting and review of new prospects and existing HNB ABL customers. The incumbent will analyze credit, financial statements and projections. The incumbent will conduct industry and company research, prepares accurate and timely credit approval documentation and participates in credit approval presentations. The Underwriter will pro-actively evaluate and mitigating associated business risks and opportunities, per established Huntington policies, procedures and Guiding Principles. Owns primary responsibility for underwriting quality and works closely with Team Leaders, Business Development Officers, Portfolio Manager, Field Examiners, Regional Commercial Management and Regional Credit Officers. The underwriter participates in prospect calls with Business Development Officers and in the preparation of transaction preview documents.

Quality Assurance:

Adheres to bank policies and procedures and complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Accountable for risk management, compliance and audit performance for area(s) of responsibility whether a supervisor, manager or individual contributor. Establishes or works with management to develop effective controls and processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored and controlled and compliance requirements are adhered to on an ongoing basis. If applicable, ensures staff is properly trained, provided with the appropriate resources and motivated to adhere to risk management principles. Maintains current knowledge of risk -related changes that may impact assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.achelors degree

  • 5+ years of experience in Asset Based Lending, Commercial Credit Analyst or similar discipline

Preferred Qualifications: Accounting, Finance, or other business or financial related studies or 6 years of experience as Commercial Credit Analyst or related area
