Huntington National Bank Financial Systems Analyst in Columbus, Ohio

Our Financial Systems Analyst will partner with the business segments and IT for the creation, maintenance, implementation and validation of the Hierarchy Control System records and related applications. Primary focus is working with segments and data stewards from the wider business to maintain reference data integrity and quality for multiple finance systems within the bank. The role works to identify and address data quality issues at source, ensuring that the appropriate checks and standards are in place to prevent problems and their re-occurrence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Primary responsibility is supporting the Hierarchy Control System, including the Organization, Product, G/L Account, Costing, Geography, and Customer hierarchies.

  • Managing reference data and business rules through hands on maintenance of them using hierarchy data management tools.

  • Ensuring that information and compliance guidelines are implemented within the data domains.

  • Providing distribution of reference data reporting through use of data query tools such as MS SQL, Excel, and other applications.

  • Participating in project meetings, requirements gathering and project implementations.

  • Developing and monitoring data quality measures and targets with data owners, users and stewards across the Bank and ensuring the integrity of data underlying decision making, providing clear management information.

  • Ensuring focus on continuous improvement in working practices involving reference data.

  • Contributing to intersecting projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree. 4 years of additional Finance or Information Technology experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

  • 3 or more years of financial analyst or data analyst experience that includes working with Sql and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preference: Finance or Information Technology.

  • Experience managing reference data, metadata and business data requirements.

  • Experience creating and maintaining training curriculum/documentation for metadata repositories including how-to, standards, and best practices, and procedures.

  • Industry standard Metadata tool experience - Strong SQL skills, Data Analysis, Data Profiling (validation/quality).

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Ability to work and adjust to changing deadlines.

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to develop relationships across the organization, working cross functionally to get results.
